S:E:M:A :

s:e:m:a wurde im jahre 2003 in köln gegründet und besteht aus dizzkant (musik) und markus rassiller (texte). in ihren tracks verbinden die beiden zeitgenössische elektronische musik mit deutscher lyrik. die musikalischen einflüsse reichen von minimaler/elektronischer musik über dub bis hin zu ambient, wohingegen die texte von der sog. “klassischen moderne” einerseits und zeitgenössischer literatur andererseits beeinflusst sind, namentlich von nietzsche, hoffmansthal und handke. im laufe der letzten jahre haben sie unter dem namen s:e:m:a zwei ep’s veröffentlicht (poetica/loopenrein; am rande der wörter/plusplus) und bei mehreren gelegenheiten ihr material auch live präsentiert. der name des projekts bedeutet nicht nur samen, sondern auch wort und bedeutung.

s:e:m:a is a cologne based project consisting of dizzkant (music) and markus rassiller (lyrics) founded in 2003. in their tracks the artists combine contemporary electronic music with german poetry. the duo’s musical influences range from minimal/electronic music to dub and ambient while the poetry is inspired by so called “classical modernity” on the one hand and contemporary poetry and writing on the other, namely nietzsche, hoffmansthal and handke. over the last couple of years they have released two ep’s (poetica/loopenrein; am rande der wörter/plusplus) and performed their material live on several occasions. the project’s name not only refers to the german word for “seed” but also the connotations of “word” and “meaning”.
